Our vision at Roosevelt Elementary School is to embrace, educate and empower. Roosevelt continues to work to improve instruction and insure all children receive the education they need.
In aligning our reading instruction with the Washington K-12 Reading Model we conduct frequent monitoring of student reading progress. Students not making satisfactory progress receive intervention instruction and additional support to insure their success.
We have begun using Saxon Math and Math Investigations in a Tacoma School District-designed model to insure mastery of math content.
Our staff meets regularly as a whole, as well as working intensively in grade-level groups. Roosevelt students have benefited from teachers who work together on professional projects and experience the same training opportunities.
When you visit Roosevelt Elementary School, you will see a very busy place. The halls have many changing displays of student work and recognition of student performance. Students in many classes work with children in other grades as tutors or on mutual projects. Roosevelt is an exciting place to visit. We look forward to having you join us.
