The Arlington Elementary School community is committed to the success of all students. Families and other adults play a vital role in the education of our children and we believe that working in partnership will assure that each child achieves success.

Parents are informed about and involved with programs here at school in a variety of ways:

• Our Paw Print newsletter is published on a bi-weekly basis.

• The Arlington Booster Club holds general membership meetings several times throughout the school year and is present at and participates in on-going events.

• Families are invited to attend several family events during the year, from open house and barbecue nights to literacy and math evenings, keeping them apprised of grade-level curriculum expectations.

Arlington is dedicated to the academic and social success of every child. For our students, the Arlington experience will:
• Kindle passion and curiosity for the world;
• Nurture self-confidence and empathy for others; and
• Instill a sense of belonging and safety which develops risk-takers and those who can adapt to a changing society.

Arlington students will meet and/or exceed grade-level expectations in literacy, math and writing by:
• Using multiple problem-solving strategies;
• Working collaboratively in small groups; and
• Using graphic organizers to demonstrate understanding of subject matter.

Through collaboration with students, staff, families and communities, students at Arlington will have:
• A global understanding that they are part of a bigger picture in the world;
• Skills necessary to be a productive and responsible member of society; and
• Motivation to be life-long learners.
