The band department is made up of several groups working separately and together to bring music and spirit to Wilson High school.  The symphonic band is made up of mostly freshman and perform as their own ensemble at local contests as well as part of the Wilson Ram Marching Band.  The Concert band is made of auditioned students who play high level literature and perform at local and regional festivals and contests.  They also participate in the Wilson Ram Marching Band.  The Percussion Ensemble is made up of all percussionists grade 9-12.  This group performs as their own group during football and basketball season, as well as at the regional Solo & Ensemble festival. Select members of this group also participate with the symphonic and concert bands.  The entire group performs with the Wilson Ram Marching Band.  The Jazz Ensemble is an select auditioned group of students from the other groups that meets before school to play challenging jazz music at local and regional contests.  This is the elite instrumental ensemble at Wilson High School.
