Nutrition and Wellness, On Your Own, Pro Start
The Family and Consumer Sciences Department offers many courses for students to explore. Students may enroll in Family Health, Personal Choices, Nutrition and Wellness, Human Development, and Relationships. WHS also offers Careers in Education for students who are interested in pursuing a career as a teacher. Another School-to-Career program offered by this department is the Pro-Start class. Pro-Start introduces students to careers in food service and production. The program was developed by the National Restaurant Association. Pro-Start students who earn at least a B in this class will qualify for Dual Credit and Bates College.
