TRUMAN’S BATTLE OF THE BOOKS

Truman’s Battle of the Books is a reading incentive program for students in grades 6^th-8^th. Students read books and come together to demonstrate their abilities and test their knowledge of the books they have read. The competitions are similar in style to the TV series Family Feud. A list of the chosen books will be available in December and the official kick off will be January 2^nd. The Battle of the Books will be held at Truman on March 28^th. The Secret Life of Owen Skye by Alan Cumyn is a story of "life" through the eyes of Owen, the middle brother of the Skye boys. The story is filled with adventures as Owen chronicles this life over a year’s time and are explained in a perspective that only a young man could imagine. Whether it’s searching for giant squid, contacting aliens, conjuring up the courage to survive the Bog Man, enduring adolescent love, or even surviving an accident, the Skye brothers are sure to bring a smile.
