Truman Middle School Update: September 2012
Dear Truman Parents and Students:
It is with genuine enthusiasm
that we welcome each of you to Truman Middle School (TMS) for the 2012-2013 year. For some of you, this letter is a “Welcome Back” and for
others it is your first welcome to TMS.
Whatever the case, please know that the Truman staff and administrative
team are here to serve you, and we are excited about this new beginning!
Parents, to ensure a successful year for your student(s),
here are some important suggestions:
·
Attend our “Open House” on Wednesday evening, September
26, @ 6:00 pm to meet staff and learn about Truman programs and ways to help
your student maintain success.
·
Access Grades Online with your student’s
password and keep updated on your student’s progress.
·
Insist that your student(s) attend school every
day and arrive on time (8:00 a.m.).
·
Monitor your student’s attire to ensure he/she abides
by TMS dress code and is “dressed for success!”
·
Sit down with your student and review the
Parent-Student Handbook he/she brings home on the first day of school.
·
Check your student’s planner every night for
homework assignments.
·
STAY INVOLVED. Parent involvement during middle school is critical. Don’t let your student(s) tell you
differently! Parent Volunteer Application available online, background check
and orientation required to volunteer. Please turn your volunteer form in at
the main office for processing.
It is our sincere pleasure to
have YOU as part of our Truman Middle School family. Let’s work closely together to make this a safe and
academically challenging place to learn.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Respectfully yours,
Ms. Justina Johnson Mr.
