Lister Lions CLIMB into the 2012-2013 School Year!

We Cooperate, love to Learn, Inspire others, Model good choices and most of all Believe in ourselves!

It is hard to imagine a more special place to begin my career as a principal than at Lister Elementary. As a former student of Lister, Stewart Middle School and Lincoln High School, I am very proud to serve in this community where the people inspired me to dream big and held me to high expectations. It is also an honor to continue the hard work of Ray Maltos and the Lister staff. The Lister staff is a group of talented, dedicated and passionate professionals who are committed to doing "whatever it takes" to ensure all Lister students rise to the challenge of being college ready. One avenue we are using to reach this goal is the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program that we are implementing in our fifth grade classes and will expand into fourth grade next year. This program supports students by developing organization and note taking skills that will set them up for academic success.

As a staff, we continue our journey to cultural competency. We are partnering with the Puget Sound ESD to develop our understanding, our knowledge and our instructional practices to best reflect the needs of all our students.  We will spend our time reflecting, discussing and implementing equitable instructional practices. We are also excited about all the opportunities that are available for our students to grow in reading and math and to develop into leaders who will work diligently to impact their community in positive ways.
Lister's theme this year is CLIMB.  Our Lions Cooperate, love to Learn, Inspire others, Model good choices and most of all Believe in ourselves! We are proud to be Lister Lions!
Thank you!
