Making change was the focus for more than 2,000 Tacoma School Public Schools seventh-graders at the We Day Tacoma event held Thursday, Oct. 3 at Life Center. Students from each of the district’s 10 middle schools converged for a non-traditional school day consisting of performances and powerful messages.
The goal of We Day Tacoma is to empower and enable youth to be agents of change, whether that is changing ones performance in school, helping the community through activism and service, or transforming the world through charity and outreach.
Many high school students from throughout the district volunteered for We Day Tacoma. Stadium High School students Emma Joy Miller, Brannon Ronia and Lauren Schultz took all photos in this gallery.
The event was modeled after the international We Day celebration, operated by a non-profit group called Free the Children.
