Lincoln Center is seeking after-school volunteers for clubs and study support for the 2009–10 school year at Lincoln High School. Internships may be possible. The hours will vary from 2:30–5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The program supervisor is Cassie Hilton, site coordinator, Lincoln Center, Metro Parks Tacoma. Duties
Volunteers/interns will:

Be responsible for instructing and mentoring youth, ages 14-16 years old, in educational and recreational clubs.

Demonstrate ongoing support and encouragement in learning and self-expression through age appropriate activities.

Develop after-school club curriculum and lesson plans, while demonstrating strong communication and leadership skills with teens and staff.

Tutor and assist students with their homework after school.
Qualifications
Volunteers must:

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have the ability to work independently and with little direction.

Must be reliable.

Must have good communication and organizational skills.

Current First-Aid and CPR card preferred.

Previous experience working with teens preferred.

Must enjoy working with teens 14--16 years of age.

Must pass FBI background check.
