Junior Achievement teaches students about finance

Junior Achievement (JA) volunteer Felicia Pendleton was in Mark Ferguson’s classroom at Wilson High School last spring for five weeks working with students in three DigiTools classes. Through the JA curriculum, students learned about the world of finance and technology and how it applies to their lives. Ferguson said, “This meets department, building and district goals and is well within the scope of DigiTools.” Pendleton taught a program called National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE) that dovetails with the “family budget” lesson plan Ferguson teaches in DigiTools. Students received a Certificate of Accomplishment if they attended all sessions, completed individual work and worked as part of a team.
