The Historical Black College Fair will occur Thursday, Feb. 4, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. at the University of Washington Tacoma Campus, 1900 Commerce St., Tacoma.
Transportation will be provided for eligible juniors and seniors in the Tacoma Public Schools (TPS). Historical Black colleges from across the U.S. are offering scholarships, grants and admission tuition to eligible 11th- and 12th-grade students who meet the program requirements. Students must bring a completed portfolio and dress in professional attire for interviews with college representatives. Students who meet all the requirements could receive an admission and scholarship offer at the event.
Event highlights include a panel of community members who are graduates, workshops, mock lectures and an interview period for students with college representatives.
The event is sponsored by the Tacoma Public Schools, Thurston Group of Washington State and University of Washington Tacoma.
