The Hilltop Artists summer program will run for six weeks, with two three-week sessions serving 120 youth from throughout the county. Students may choose glassblowing, flame-working (bead making) or glass fusion/mosaics. Students must be 12 years old to participate, and no students will be refused services based on their past behavior, grades, physical limitations or artistic talent.
Kathy Anderson, outreach and communications manager for Hilltop Artists, said, “We currently have space available in the bead making and fusion classes. But, the only class available for glassblowing is Session 2, 9 to 11 a.m.”
The first summer session will run from Monday, June 27, through Friday, July 15. The second session will run from Monday, July 18, though Friday, Aug. 5. For each session, Hilltop Artists have scheduled two, two-hour classes: 9 to 11 a.m. and 11:30 to 1:30 p.m.
The materials fee for each session is $100. If your student is eligible for free or reduced lunch at school, Hilltop Artists will waive the fee. Hilltop Artists may reduce the fee if you submit a written request and the staff approves your request.
