Each organization submitted a list of needs to the Dugan Foundation. Common items will be evenly split between all organizations. Specific items will go to the specific agency.
The Dugan Foundation is a public non-profit local organization dedicated to ending euthanasia as a form of population control by developing Pierce County into a sustainable no-kill companion animal community. The Dugan Foundation believes in human accountability for the welfare of companion animals. It supports existing organizations dedicated to the same cause. They accomplish their work through community leadership, grant giving, fund raising, and education, all in support of the development of a sustainable no-kill community.
The Dugan Foundation, which strives to develop a sustainable no-kill companion animal community in Pierce County, is releasing its very first animal calendar for 2009. The calendar features the faces of Northwest pets as captured by nationally acclaimed pet photographer Bev Sparks. The proceeds from the calendar will provide critical operational funding to continue the foundation's work in animal sheltering, care, adoption and education in Pierce County.
The calendars are available for purchase for $14.95 at regional businesses: Next to Nature at the Tacoma, West Seattle and Edmonds locations; Urban Dogs in Bellevue; and the Posh Paw in Gig Harbor and Dupont. Calendars are also available for purchase online at www.duganfoundation.org or by calling the foundation at 253.572.7700.
These calendars are a product of local businesses aiding in a local cause. Eleven dollars of every purchase will go directly to Dugan Foundation, thanks to the gracious in kind donations of B. Sparks Photography, Kris Nystrom Graphics and Reprographics Northwest, in Tacoma. Calendars were printed on recycled paper, in keeping with the foundation's commitment to sustainability.
