The following is information shared with Larchmont families regarding the flooding of some streets near Larchmont Elementary School:
Hello Larchmont families,
This is a very important message. We have flooding on the main street approaching Larchmont school. There is a deep pool of water on 88th Street between East A and B. The Tacoma City and School District crews are unable to clear it because of the high ground water levels. Several vehicles have been stranded and were towed out of the flooded street. The Tacoma Police have closed the street because of the hazardous situation.
Parents who pick up students will be required to detour and come to Larchmont from East 96th Street on B Street (instead of A Street) because 88th is closed between A and B streets. The area will be extremely congested during student release time so if you are able, you may pick your child up early today.
The buses will be running at the regular times but will be detoured as directed by the Transportation Department.
