Come see students perform adaptations of Shakespeare’s works and watch history students create a living game board at the Lincoln Center’s third annual extravaganza Thursday, June 2, from 5 to 8 p.m. The Lincoln Center, an extended-day, college-readiness program within Lincoln High School, will host the extravaganza as the culmination and celebration of students’ learning this school year.
Lincoln Center, the only program of its kind in the state, will showcase student work in mathematics, science, language arts and social studies. Families, educators and community members will hear presentations, participate in interactive learning and examine displays. Lincoln Center students will man displays, share research and teach participants math skills. They will also give presentations of extracurricular and after-school programming and elective courses, including ProStart culinary arts and metal fabrication.
Now in its third year, the Lincoln Center is a program dedicated to preparing students for the rigors of college and bridging the achievement gap. Lincoln Center has made early progress towards meeting this goal and has been featured locally and nationally for its work.
