Baker Middle School staff members, students and parents have formed a committee to organize special events to celebrate Baker’s rich history and introduce the community to its new school building which will open on Jan. 2, 2012, at 8001 South J St.
Final Bite of Baker: John S. Baker Jr. High/Middle School farewell celebrationThe Baker Bulldogs will hold a farewell celebration on Thursday, Dec. 15, from 5:30–7:30 p.m., at the old John S. Baker Jr. High/Middle School, 8320 South I St. This event is an opportunity for Baker students, alumni and community members to tour the old building, sign the farewell wall, share memories, contribute to the historical Baker time capsule and say goodbye. Food items will be available to purchase from local vendors. Dean Wagner, band teacher, is organizing a Baker alumni and current student band that will perform at the event. If any alumni are interested in joining the band for this occasion, contact Wagner at

Open House: Baker Middle School celebrates the opening of the new school
As Baker charts a new course, it will host a special program that will highlight Baker Middle School’s history and celebrate the new school. The gala event—featuring students, alumni, staff members and friends—will take place on Friday, Jan. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the new Baker Middle School site, 8001 South J St. This is an event you will not want to miss.
