Jennifer Kubista, director of athletics and activities for the Tacoma Public Schools, was honored at the Business Examiner’s recent 40 Under Forty 2009 program celebration held at the Greater Tacoma Convention and Trade Center.
This program recognizes outstanding South Sound business and community leaders under the age of 40. A panel of alumni reviewed the candidates to provide the Business Examiner direction in the selection process.
Each class of 40 Under Forty represents the diversity of the South Sound and includes those who have had great accomplishments and made significant contributions to their businesses, industries and communities.
A special publication profiling this year’s honorees will be included in the July 20 issue of the Business Examiner. To see the list of the 40 Under Forty 2009 honorees, go to the Business Examiner Web site at www.businessexaminer.com/forty.
Passionate about serving and helping people, Kubista said in her profile, "I get to work and watch students develop from middle school through high school and see how much each matures as an individual." She is the youngest, and first woman, to serve as director of athletics for the Tacoma Public Schools, and has been in her position for six years. Kubista is involved in community and civic opportunities with various activities tied to the school district. She also supports the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation.
