Arron Wilkins, current assistant principal at Boze Elementary School, will take over July 1 as the new principal of Sherman Elementary School for 2010-2011. He replaces Connie Wick, who recently took a new position as Principal on Special Assignment overseeing the district’s programs for highly capable students.
Wilkins served as an administrative intern in the district from 2008-2009. Prior to that, he served as an instructional facilitator in Tacoma for five years. He began his teaching career in 1998 as an elementary educator in the Federal Way School District before he moved to Tacoma Public Schools as an elementary educator in 2002.
Wilkins earned a bachelor’s degree from Western Washington University in 1997 and a master’s degree from Lesley University in 2002. He received his principal certification from Seattle Pacific University.
