A number of construction projects for the Tacoma Public Schools have earned awards due to their design and construction.

 

  Central Administration Building 

 

  • 2011 Award for Outstanding Achievement in Historic Preservation from the City of Tacoma and the Tacoma Landmarks Preservation Commission

  Foss High School 

  • 2005 Best Renovation from McGraw Hill/Northwest Construction Magazine Best of ’05 Awards
  • 2007 Outstanding Building Design - High Schools from American School & University Magazine's 25th Annual Architectural Portfolio

  Lincoln High School

  • 2008 Shirley Cooper Award for Besting Meeting the Educational Needs of its Students from AASA (American Association of School Administrators)/AIA (American Institute of Architects)/CEFPI (Council of Educational Facilities Planners International)
  • 2008 Award for Outstanding Design for Renovation/Modernization from American School & University Magazine
  • 2008 Tenant Improvement over $5 Million from American General Contractors of Washington
  • 2008 Excellence in Masonry Design - Rehab/Restoration  from the Masonry Institute of Washington

    Mt. Tahoma High School

  • 2001 Excellence in Masonry Design Honor Award  from the Masonry Institute of null Washington
  • 2009 Citation Award for Design from American Institute of Architects Southwest Washington

    Stadium High School

  • 2006 Outstanding Achievement in Historic Preservation  from the City of Tacoma and the Tacoma Landmarks Preservation Commission
  • 2006 Best of K-12 Education  from McGraw Hill/Northwest Construction Magazine 
  • 2007 The Valerie Sivinski Award for Outstanding Achievement in Historic Rehabilitation Award from the Washington State Historic Preservation Office
  • Honor Award from AIA Southwest Washington in recognition of the professional excellence in architectural design

    Wilson High School

  • 2008 Citation of Design Excellence from Learning by Design Magazine
  • 2008 Green Design Awards - Outstanding Architecture + Design in Education: Judge's Choice IEQ - Visual, Acoustical, Thermal, & Air Quality from School Planning & Management Magazine
  • 2008 International Design Award: Third Place-Institutional from iDA-Farmani Group
