Technology Standards

Every educator is challenged with the No Child Left Behind Act. The technology component of this act states that all students will be computer literate by the time they exit the eighth grade. Our department is hard at work producing lessons that integrate with, rather than add onto, the current curriculum. Skills we must impart include Core Concepts, Keyboarding, Word Processing, Publishing, Multimedia, Presentation, Spreadsheet, Data base, Graphic, and Internet Skills. Having mastered these skills
our high school students will have knowledge of all the tools necessary to complete their culminating projects. As educators we can take pride in helping prepare our students for their future.

Technology is advancing at a rapid pace. It is probably safe to say that it is nearly impossible to keep up. Still it is a brave but wise educator that integrates technology
into their curriculum. Often one of your students is the class expert in a particular piece of software. When allowed to, these students bring new and innovative ideas into the classroom. Students are engaged and spend more time on their lessons, producing better products.
