Substitute Information

​The Substitute Office is located in the Human Resources Department at the Central Administration Building.
Phone:  253.571.1260.
Office Hours:  Monday-Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
If you call outside of these hours, please leave a voicemail.
If you need a substitute, call SubFinder at 253.571.3400.
The Substitute Office coordinates substitute coverage for:
Teachers, Nurses, Librarians, Counselors, Principals, Office Professionals, ParaEducators and Security Personnel.

SubFinder (253.571.3400) is an automated absence reporting and substitute placement system that is accessible 24 hours a day.

It serves approximately 5,000 classified and certificated employees and 1100 substitute teachers and para-educators. Reporting is easy and provides instant information regarding the status of every substitute. 

Important Log In Information:

    • To log into the SubFinder system you will need to enter your Password/PIN.  Your Password/PIN will default to your employee ID number with four (4) preceding zeros (example: 000099999)
    • You have the option to personalize your password/PIN in the system.  If you decide to personalize your Password/PIN, we recommend that you choose a 7-9 digit number.  Click here for instructions for changing our Password/PIN.
    • If you decide NOT to make a change to your Password/PIN, it will remain the same.
    • Your username will not change and will always be your last name ONLY.  Note: If you do not know your employee ID number, you can find it located on the upper right-hand corner of your paycheck in Employee Self Service (ESS).
