Assessment

The Research and Evaluation Department develops and supports the evaluation and understanding of district educational programs. This is accomplished by developing the tools and maintaining the data needed by district personnel and the public to monitor the effectiveness of the schools and programs.

The responsibilities of our department include:

  • Managing the administration of state-wide and system-wide testing programs in the Tacoma Public Schools
  • Managing the approval process for requests to conduct individual or institutional research in Tacoma Public Schools
  • Providing data and information to assist in the evaluation of programs being used in the district
