McKinley Elementary offers its culturally diverse student population an atmosphere of mutual respect and individual responsibility in which to learn. McKinley emphasizes literacy, which includes reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. McKinley is one of two Early Childhood model schools in Tacoma.
